Standing on the veranda of this old apartment

I looked out and laughed a little

Hanging in the tepid wind, white sheets

魚もいないドブ川越えて

幾つも越えて行く二人乗りで

折れそうな手でヨロヨロしてさ 追われるように

There aren’t even any fish, clear past this ditchwater river

And the two of us have cleared it so many, many times

Staggering around with hands that seem like they’re about to break, like we’re being chased

幼いだけの密かな 掟の上で君と見た

夏の魔物に会いたかった 会いたかった

And above the secret commandments held only when we were young,

With that demon of summer you and I both saw

長くのびた影がおぼれた頃

ぬれたクモの巣が光ってた 泣いてるみたいに

A thick rain soon begins to fall

Back then, I feared those shadows that grew so long

and the drenched spiderwebs that shone as if they were crying

殺してしまえばいいとも思ったけれど 君に似た

夏の魔物に会いたかった

I thought it would be better to just kill them, but

They looked like that demon of summer, the one you resemble, the one that

I wanted to meet

幼いだけの密かな 掟の上で君と見た

夏の魔物に会いたかった
